yukazuka　床束

Short struts placed on base stones beneath a floor to support the sleepers *oobiki 大引, and floor joists *neda 根太, over which the flooring is laid. Yukazuka are usually made of cedar sugi 杉, cypress hinoki 桧 or pine matsu 松.
