Also *karahafu gegyo 唐破風懸魚. Lit. rabbit-fur cover. A type of decorative wooden beam-end cover *gegyo 懸魚, attached to the top of a Chinese style gable *karahafu 唐破風. As the crest of the undulating gable is almost horizontal, the unokedooshi has a correspondingly flat shape, with symmetrical fins, hire 鰭 spreading out right and left. Unlike other gegyo, the unokedooshi has no metal foil *rokuyou 六葉. The oldest extant example in Japan can be seen on the miniature shrine *zushi 厨子 in Houryuuji *Shouryouin 法隆寺聖霊院 (ca 1278), Nara.
