Lit. six leaves. A decoration pattern carved into the shape of six petals, and used on a gable pendant *gegyo , to conceal a nail-head *kugikakushi BB, on door-frames, gates, and on non-penetrating tie beams *nageshi ·. Rokuyou patterns are carved into wood mokugu Ψο or metal *kanagu ΰο. A metal rokuyou is called rokuyou kanamono Ztΰ¨. The rokuyou has a projection in the center known as *taru-no-kuchi MΜϋ (cask cap). Around this is a circular rim maruza ~ΐ, surrounded by a chrysanthemum-shaped decoration *kikuza eΐ, surrounded in turn by the six petals, often shaped like hollyhock aoi ¨, or water-chestnut petals *hishi H. | ||||||
