Rotating eyes, a gimmick used for many bugaku masks *bugakumen 舞楽面 including *Ryouou 陵王, *Nasori 納曽利, *Genjouraku 還城楽 and *Saisourou 採桑老. The eye balls are carved as a lazy figure '8' and then inserted into sockets at the eye area with a skewer that reaches from temple to temple. For all the masks but Saisourou, the dangling chin *tsuriago 吊顎 is hung from the dougan so that as it swings with the movement of the dancer, the eyes also role up and down.
