Also called *magaribashira ‹Θ’Œ. Lit. crooked or bent post. Posts that are used on the inner side, at the outer corner of a *tokonoma °‚ΜŠΤ, and may also be called the middle post *daimebashira ‘δ–Ϊ’Œ, in a tea ceremony room. Yugamibashira was often employed in the Momoyama period, and at the time the middle post was only slightly curved. In tea literature, yugamibashira was considered a base word and seldom used. The yugamibashira became very popular during the Genroku Œ³˜\ era (1688-1704) and was given a much more exaggerated curve.
