Although the term yokogi can refer to any horizontal timber, it is often used specifically for a       strip of wood set horizontally beneath the partial wall erected between       the middle post *nakabashira ’†’Œ and the wall of a tea ceremony room *chashitsu ’ƒŽº. It serves as both a support and       finishing strip for the wall above the opening. The yokogi is approximately       66 - 68cm above floor level. When this same member is made of bamboo, it       is called *hikidake ˆø’|. Example: Daitokuji Ryuukouin Mitsu-an, ‘å“¿Ž›—´Œõ‰@–§ˆÁ, Kyoto.  |
