Metal fittings that are used to suspend various types of structural members, which include: hanging struts; hanging posts, tsurizuka ’έ‘©, to which head jambs are attached *kamoi Š›‹; or ceilings, tsuritenjou ’ή“Vˆδ. Traditionally ceilings were suspended by wooden straps. Metal fittings are also used to support a cantilever *hanegi ‹j–Ψ, or to secure rain gutters *toi ”σ. Tsurimoto ’ήŒ³ refers to metal fittings for doors that are hung along one side by means of pivot hinges *jikuzuri Ž²’έ.
