when there is a drooping verge *minokou
–¥b, on a hip-and-gable roof *irimoya
yane “ü•ê‰®‰®ª, or on a gable roof *kirizuma
yane Øȉ®ª. The upper part of the tonemarugawara fits
under the flat tiles *noshigawara
à‘“lŠ¢, to form the base for the tiles piled up on the ridge. The term
is also applied to the entire row of semi-cylindrical tiles which reach from
the ridge to the upper part of the corner ridge *sumikudarimune
‹÷~“, or to the corner of the eave-end on a gable roof which has eave-overhang
tiles *kakegawara
