Popular variations have different motifs set inside the spaces created by the two vertical wavy lines, such as cloud vertical stripes kumotatewaku ‰_—§—O, chrysanthemum kikutatewaku ‹e—§—O, wave namitatewaku ”g—§—O, wisteria fujitatewaku “‘—§—O, honeysuckle tsutsuji tatewaku ηUηP—§—O or bamboo-grass sasatatewaku ω—§—O.
