1@A generic term for roof tiles used in the valley of a roof.
Valleys are formed when the ridges of two sections of roofs meet at an angle, usually at right angle. If the valley tiles are V-shaped in cross section, they are called taniutsubo ’JθΤ.

2@The concave curve at the lower, outer end of an undulating gable *karahafu “‚”j•— type roof. The gable is called a valley. Also called tanisumimune ’J‹χ“ (valley corner ridge) .
