Zϋ format. A size of *ukiyo-e
’G print often used by Utagawa Hiroshige ΜμLd (also known as Andou Hiroshige
ΐ‘Ld; 1797-1858) for his landscape or bird-and-flower prints. Four variations
of tanzakuban exist. 1@Ootanzakuban εZϋ». Also read daitanzakuban. A vertically cut 1/3 sheet of an *oobousho ες sheet, approximately 39 X 17.5 cm. When used for *surimono ¨, it was called shikishiban jouge nimaitsugi F»γΊρp (two, vertically joined *shikishiban F»), because its size is the same as two sheets of the poem card format. When used (though very rarely) in *beni-e gG in 1750s, it was called oohosoban εΧ». 2@ Chuutanzakuban Zϋ». A vertically cut quarter piece of oobousho paper, approximately 39 X 12 cm. 3@ Kotanzakuban ¬Zϋ». Also called hosotanzakuban ΧZϋ». A vertically cut piece of 1/8 of an oobousho sheet, approximately 39 X 6 cm. 4@ Aitanzakuban ΤZϋ». A vertically cut quarter piece of an *kobousho ¬ς sheet, approximately 33 X 11.5 cm. @ |
