Also sudaresama —ϊ‹·ŠΤ. A transom, *ranma —“ŠΤ, with openwork spaces filled by a mesh of bamboo, kanchiku Š¦’|, the horsetail plant, tokusa –Ψ‘―, ditch reed, yoshi δΡ, or bush clover, hagi ”‹. These very slender stems are bound or plaited together with cord. Spaces are left between the stems so that light and air can pass through easily. The term sudarezama is also applied specifically to foliate panels *kouzama Ši‹·ŠΤ, filled with a reed mesh.
