See *daijoukyuu 大嘗宮.  2 The name of the sanctuary, shinden 神殿, at Yoshida Jinja 吉田神社, in Kyoto. 3 A funeral hall or place for funerals like Aoyama Saijou 青山斎場 in Tokyo. 4 Any site where Shinto rituals are performed. Often white sand or white pebbles are laid at these sites to create an ora of purity.  |
