Also termed kakubori 角堀, a moat with squared off ridges, or unebori 畝堀, the general term for a furrowed dry moat. A dry moat *karabori 空掘 in which squared off ridges were constructed, horizontally and vertically as in a *shouji 障子 frame, to prevent the enemy from advancing along the bottom. Sometimes palisades were also constructed. | ||||||
