1 The upper end of a roof tile. Also referred to as *kawarajiri 瓦尻. When laying a tile roof, the tiles are set starting at the edge of the eaves *nokisaki 軒先, and moving upward toward the ridge *mune 棟.

2 Shiri in many usages means the bottom or lower part. Therefore, for example, the bottom is called tojiri 斗尻. See *daito 大斗, *masu
