Lit. a pillar lavishly decorated with cloisonne'. Pillars embellished with a variety of materials and techniques: intricate filigree of gold or silver, inlaid mother-of-pearl, Buddhas, bodhisattvas, animals, plants, cloud and dragon patterns and geometrical motifs applied with paint or lacquer.
