A roofed corridor or passageway that connects one strucuture to another. It may also encompass an open area. There are several kinds of rou named according to function, construction and style: *kairou ‰τ˜L (a single or double passageway); *horou •ΰ˜L (a corridor); sukirou “§˜L (a passageway open on both sides); watarou “n˜L (a connection corridor), *chuumonrou ’†–ε˜L (a middle gate corridor); *hashirou ‹΄˜L (a bridge causeway); and *youkurou —ƒ˜L (wing corridors). This last type extends out from the *Chuudou ’†“° at the Byoudouin *Hououdou •½“™‰@–P™€“°.
