the room's center. In a large room *hiroma 
LŠÔ, a 3 or 4 mat room for instance, the firebox is cut into one of the guests' 
mats. If the hearth is set into the host's mat *temaedatami 
“_‘Oô, it is referred to as *mukougiri 
ŒüØ. If set into in a corner it is called *sumiro 
‹÷˜F. The latter two mats are also called rodatami.  Example: Daitokuji Jukouin Kan'inseki ‘å“¿Ž›ãÚŒõ‰@ŠÕ‰BÈ (repaired 1807), 3-mat daimegiri type, Kyoto.  |
