Lit. random joints. Various types of architectural joints that can be either dovetail, *aritsugi ap, for simple work, or gooseneck, *kamatsugi p, for more complex construction. These joints, *tsugite pθ, are placed with no intention of �creating uniformity. The position of these joints varies from building to building. For example, joints used on purlins, *keta , and on a ridge pole, *munagi Ψ, are scattered in zigzag fashion. This method increases the strength of the connected members. | ||||||
