Lit. willow leaf shelf. A single decorative shelf constructed a little below the cabinets, tenbukuro 天袋, attached to the ceiling of *tokowaki 床脇, the area nest to the *tokonoma 床の間. The shelf extends about half the width of the tokonoma.
