oku-in 奥院
KEY WORD : architecture / general terms
 
An inner sanctuary. The part of a temple most remote from the main entrance. An example is the Keikyu-in 桂宮院, an octagonal main hall Hondou 本堂, at Kouryuuji 広隆寺 in Kyoto.
