Also called sagekama Ί. A commonly used half-blind, gooseneck tenon *kama and mortise corner joint. The gooseneck-shaped tenon *hozo ΩΌ is inserted from above at right angle into an identically shaped mortise *hozoana ΩΌ. It is commonly used to join beams *nuki Ρ, and posts *hashira , and also to connect the upper-most horizontal member of the frame and the vertical stile of a plank-door. One example is a plank-door with narrow horizontal lath stretching from one side to the other at close intervals *mairado ΗΛ. | ||||||
