A generic term for struts *tsuka 束 that are set at the mid-point between two widely spaced major supporting members to strengthen the structure. For example, a short strut placed beneath the tread of a wide staircase to prevent sagging or a strut positioned at the center of a wide transom *ranma 欄間. Also tsurizuka 吊束. | ||||||
