Also nuriatsu 塗厚. Depth of plastering. The ratio between the thickness from the first rough coat applied to the backing *shitaji 下地, to the outer surface of the finished coat, and the pillars of the framework. For example, if a post is 9cm thick, the thickness of the plaster would normally be 1.8 cm.
