Also *kayouzuka 荷葉束 and rengezuka 蓮華束. Decorative carved supports that separate the upper and lower railings of a Zen style *zenshuuyou 禅宗様 railing *kouran 高欄 , on a veranda. The name varies with the shape of the support--nigirihasu is a closed lotus; kayouzuka a lotus leaf; and rengezuka a lotus flower. | ||||||
