A room at Kumano jinja 熊野神社, in Fukushima prefecture, which is similar to a worshipper's hall *haiden 拝殿, at the other shrines. The building is used by the highest ranking people; where only the aristocracy was permitted entrance. Generally the purpose was to be closer to the deity of the shrine. The hall could also be used for special religious training. | ||||||
