2 One of
many traditional garden techniques which emphasize only partial exposure
of typical garden elements such as stone lanterns ishidourou
石灯籠, waterfalls taki 滝, an arbor tei 亭, rocks,
etc. These are generally half hidden by trees or bushes. The planning
is arranged so that even people as they proceed along garden paths,
are occasionally out of view. The hiding of various elements is intended
to induce an illusion of distance.
