maguchi　間口

1　The length of the front facade of a building or frontage of a plot of land from corner to corner. Maguchi is measured in precise dimensions, either Japanese feet, shaku 尺 or bays *ken 間. See *okuyuki 奥行, *ketayuki 桁行, *hariyuki 梁行, *harima 梁間. 2　In the Edo period, the front entrance of an urban merchant's house *machiya 町家, shouka 商家. See *oodoguchi 大戸口.
