mosaku 模作

Lit. to make a copy. A copy of an artwork. In the case of painting and calligraphy, it is specifically called *mosha 模写, while in sculpture, mokoku 模刻. Pottery and other craftwork has often been copied. Such copies were made in order to study the original artwork or to make reproductions, which often raises the problem of forgery.
