Also bafumi, hirami 褶. The flat top of an earthen embankment *doi 土居 in a castle. A fence or wall was frequently built along the mafumi. In this case, the area of the mafumi outside the fence or wall is called *inubashiri 犬走り, and the area inside the fence is called *mushabashiri 武者走. Small round stones *kuri-ishi 栗石 were sometimes spread on the surface of the mafumi . | ||||||
