Also called shinkurama-ishi 新鞍馬石 and koushuu mikage-ishi 甲州御影石. A type of low quality granite quarried in modern Yamanashi prefecture and substituted for the rarer Kurama stone *kurama-ishi 鞍馬石. Used for shoe-removing stones *kutsunugi-ishi 沓脱石 and stepping stones *tobi-ishi 飛石, in gardens. | ||||||
