The band of lotus petals *renji 蓮子 which encircles the seed pod *chuubou 中房 on the pendant *gatou 瓦当 of a semi-circular convex eave-end tile *nokimarugawara 軒丸瓦. The shape, number and size of the petals varies considerably.
