1　A crowning board. Similar to the lid placed at the top of storage boxes for rain shutters *amado 雨戸.



2　The board that covers the top of a wooden fence. Sometimes called a coping board, it extends out on each side of the fence to prevent rain or snow falling around the base of the fence.
