Lit. yin and yang stone. A pair of stones representing male and female principles or genitalia. Also called on'youseki or onmyouseki, these stones were found in *daimyou teien ‘å–¼’뉀 where they served as auspicious symbols for fertility, prosperity and familial harmony. Good examples are found at Kenrokuen Œ“˜Z‰€ in Ishikawa prefecture and Kourakuen ŒãŠy‰€ in Tokyo. In'youseki may also be called male and female stone, danjoseki ’j—Î. | ||||||
