irezanebari 入実張

Also called yatoizane 雇実, yatoizanebari 雇実張 or yatoizanehagi 雇実矧. Planks that are grooved on each side and joined by a spline, a long strip of wood that slips into the slot created when the boards are laid tightly against each other. The spline acts as a false tongue. This technique is not considered to be true joinery and is used for verandas and various types of flooring.
