A variety of small, decidated mandala *besson mandara 別尊曼荼羅 centered on *Ichijikinrin 一字金輪. Ichijikinrin is depicted in the center displaying the knowledge-fist mudra *chiken-in 智拳印, and is generally surrounded by the seven treasures *shippou 七宝 (Sk: saptaratna) regarded as signs or marks of a universal ruler, tenrinjouou 転輪聖王 (Sk: cakravartin) and *Butsugen butsumo 仏眼仏母, but there are instances in which Butsugen butsumo is omitted. Typical examples of this *mandara 曼荼羅 are found at the Nara National Museum, Henjoukouin 遍照光院 (Mt. Kouya 高野, Wakayama prefecture), and Tsubosakadera 壷坂寺 (Nara), but their overall composition and the disposition of the seven treasures are not uniform. | ||||||
