|  Hineri means to twist, turn, back, or roll. 
      Also written 捻斗; also called onisarato 鬼皿斗. A square or rectangular 
      plate block *sarato 
      皿斗, that appeared at Houryuuji 法隆寺 at the end of 7c-8c and was occasionally 
      employed thereafter. During the late 16c a larger, curvilinear style block 
      placed between the top of pillars and large bearing blocks, *daito 
      大斗 became popular. Its upper part is raised and curved back so that its 
      outermost point is in line with the edge of the bearing block.  |
