The edges hata 端 on the sides of 
      grooves, troughs or channels hi 樋 made in a sill or head jamb. 
      Usually the grooves and edges are made from one piece of timber. Should 
      they be made of a separate piece of timber with the sides attached, the 
      edges of the attached pieces are called ukehibata 受樋端 (receiving 
      groove edge).
