Lit. star mandara. A variety of dedicated mandala *Butsugen mandara §αΦδΆ depicting various deities symbolizing stars hoshi ― or heavenly bodies. There are several types; *hokuto mandara klΦδΆ centered on Shaka kinrin ίήΰΦ; the Myouken mandara ©ΦδΆ centered on *Myouken ©; the shuunanzan mandara IμRΦδΆ which reflects Taoist influence; the hokuto mandara of Chinese provenance touhon hokuto mandara {klΦδΆ centered on Shijoukou *Butchou ΰ·υ§Έ; the Kara-zu Ξ } which resembles a horoscope; and the shichisei nyoirin mandara ΅―@ΣΦΦδΆ centered on *Nyoirin Kannon @ΣΦΟΉ. Hoshi mandara is sometimes used to refer to the hokuto mandara. |
