平入. A style of building that has the main entrance or entrances on the front side
of the building running parallel to the ridge *munagi
棟木. Most temples and a fair number of shrine buildings have this arrangement.
Examples: Kano mioya Jinja Higashihonden, Nishihonden 賀茂御祖神社東本殿・西本殿, Kyoto ; Toushoudaiji
