A method used to insert braces into an earthen
wall. One brace was placed above the upper cross piece. Another brace was
buried below ground level and therefore was called an earth brace *jinuki
地貫. They were cross shaped and attached to the base of posts. Because this
brace was buried under the ground, it prevented the enemy from pulling up
the post that supported the wall. |
