hanshouji　半障子

A sliding screen made of a light wooden frame covered with translucent paper. It is about 1m - 1.3m high. 1.3m hanshouji are thought to have been used in palaces. In either case, hanshouji are shorter than any full size sliding screen *shouji 障子.
