furesumi@U‹÷
KEY WORD :@architecture / general terms
@
Refers to the pitch of a roof that is different on the front and back from the pitch of the sides. The hip rafters at the corners cannot bisect them equally into two 45‹angles where they meet the purlins. Hexagonal and octagonal buildings, *rokkakudou ˜ZŠp“° and *hakkakudou ”ªŠp“°, have furesumi type roofs. In contrast, if the corner is bisected equally into two 45‹angles it is called a true corner, masumi ^‹÷.
