fukubachi 伏鉢

Also written 覆鉢; also called fukuhatsu ふくはつ. The small inverted bowl-like fixture placed on the box-like cover *roban 露盤, over the peak of a pyramidal roof or six or eight sided roofs, hexagonal or octagonal halls usually found at Buddhist temples. Also, the small dome-like part to which the lotus petal ring *ukebana 受花, is affixed.
