Lit. a group or a varying number of lattice. Lattice or small beams arranged to form patterns in transoms *ranma —“ŠÔ, on latticed doors or windows in gable pediments, and even to form coffers in a ceiling *goutenjou Ši“Vˆä. The lattice may be set either horizontally, vertically or in a crisscross pattern. Fukiyose goushi are not always evenly spaced. There are variations in the ratios between individual lattices as well as between groups to form decorative patterns. Many varieties of patterns are also found in the framework of *shouji áŽq. | ||||||
