This accompanies an expression of anger *funnusou 忿怒相, and is found on other frightening Buddhist images including *myouou 明王, Devas *ten 天, and shinshouzou 神将像. Gundari Myououzou 軍荼利明王像 and Daiitoku Myououzou 大威徳明王像 (wood, 9c) in Touji Koudou 東寺講堂, Kyoto, are good examples. | ||||||
