A standard unit of measurement used in Edo, and various towns in the Kantou 関東 region. In constructing an ordinary merchant's dwelling the distance from pillar-center to pillar-center is about 175-180cm, and is the standard unit of measurement. However, usually farmhouses in the Kantou region were constructed with a slightly longer dimension. | ||||||
