A gate originally used only by the Emperor. Primarily found at Buddhist temples, it is usually a four-legged gate *shikyakumon 四脚門. It's marker says it was the old Hi-no-gomon 日の御門 from Kyoto Gosho 京都御所 in the late 16c to early 17c, and that in 1642 it was presented to the temple Nanzenji as an imperial envoy's gate.
