Lit. intermediate format size. *Ukiyo-e 浮世絵 prints of two sizes, both between the large format *ooban 大判, and the medium format *chuuban 中判. Also called ai-nishiki 間錦, half cut of a *kobousho 小奉書 sheet that is approximately 33 X 23 cm. The third most common format for full-color woodblock prints *nishiki-e 錦絵, after ooban and chuuban. .
