Amida keka 阿弥陀悔過

One of a group of chanted prayers used to express penitence to various Buddhist deities. Prayers of repentance to *Amida 阿弥陀 (Sk: Amitabha/Amitayus) Buddha are called Amida keka. Well-known early Amida keka ceremonies were carried out on the death of the Empress Koumyou 光明 (780) at Hokkeji 法華寺 in Nara, Shokoku-kokubunji 諸国国分寺, and Kokubun-niji 国分尼寺.
